Even though the Edgar vs. Penn rematch is interesting, James Toney vs. Randy Couture seems to have stolen the spotlight for this event. Even though most assume it'll be an easy takedown for Randy, don't assume that James Toney hasn't done his homework. I'm looking forward to this fight!

My picks: BJ Penn by stoppage, Couture by submission, Maia by submission, Maynard by decision, Diaz by submission.

Sometimes being a professional fighter makes you the target of thugs but in this case, former UFC champ, Bas Rutten ended up fighting a bunch of bouncers. I've only read about this story so hearing it from Bas himself was awesome!

Anderson Silva has become a bit like the old Mike Tyson, so dominant that people have lost interest in his fights. Give Chael Sonnen all the credit for the interest in this fight he created through his trash talking. Chael is talented enough to take the fight but unfortunately I won't be able to watch this one live. The fight I really want to see is I want to see Big Country Roy Nelson destroy the up and coming Junior Dos Santos. Dos Santos is on his way to the belt but everyone underestimates Nelson. Nelson is a tough guy, even though looking at him you might think he's not athletic at all. Go Nelson!

Roger Huerta Defends Woman in Street Fight

When I heard the words UFC, Roger Huerta and street fight I braced myself for the worst. Fortunately for cell-phone cameras we got the real story that he beat up a guy who sucker punched a girl. I say good for Huerta, especially after his reasoning of if this happened to his sister or wife he would want someone to do something. Even though I'm no fan of street fighting, I'm happy he did it. Even UFC president, Dana White said the other guy had it coming. (source - TMZ)

Anderson Silva came under a lot of criticism for his last fight where he seemed to toy with his opponent, Demian Maia. It's pretty hard to find a compelling matchup that will make Silva fight as well as he's capable of but Haley Joel Osment look-alike, Chael Sonnen has helped to build up this fight by giving us the most entertaining trash talk this sport has ever seen. Will he win? Probably not but at least people will tune in to see what he does and what he has to say after the fight.

I wish I had Showtime because tonight, Fedor Emilianenko will be tested (for a minute or so) against a potentially dangerous Fabricio Werdum. Even better, the Scott Smith/Cung Le fight should be a blast to watch. How can you not like Scott Smith, the one fighter who has come from behind more times than any other. Too bad there isn't a deeper pool of female fighters to fight Cris Cyborg but I'll still be interested to see how well Jan Finney can do against the larger, more seasoned fighter.

I became more of a fan of Rashad Evans after his coaching stint on the Ultimate Fighter but I still want to watch him get KO'd by Rampage who really needs this win to stay in the top of the light-heavyweight contenders and hopefully fight for the belt soon.

Love him or hate him Kimbo Slice sells tickets. While he's improved light years beyond his street fighting days, he's still older and slower than a lot of his competition. He needs a knockout to keep the mystique but the clock is ticking fast on his career. I think he's earned respect and I hope he can have some good fights before he retires. Watch him at UFC 113 this Saturday.

Jason "Mayhem" Miller Apologizes For His Part in Strikeforce Brawl

I'm not sure how damaging everyone thought the brawl at last Saturday's Strikeforce on CBS event was but I think they know now. Jason "Mayhem" Miller tweeted "whoops" after it happened but now after the media came down on him and everyone else involved he released a more thought out statement.

From MayhemMiller.com: "I would like to formally apologize to CBS, Strikeforce and all fans of mixed martial arts for my role in the events following the 'Strikeforce: Nashville' event. In retrospect, my timing could not have been worse to ask for my rematch with Jake [Shields], and I take full responsibility for entering the cage and setting off a chain of events that cast a dark shadow on the sport. I've been a fighter and a fan of MMA for over 12 years and would never do anything to intentionally tarnish the sport I've given my life to. In the excitement of the moment, I let my emotions run high and made a bad choice that resulted in a debacle. For that, I sincerely apologize."

Video: Nick Diaz Kind of Apologizes For Strikeforce Brawl

When the brawl at last Saturday's Strikeforce on CBS event went down I was wondering what role Nick Diaz played in it. Numerous pictures have come out showing that both Nick and Nate Diaz were throwing punches, maybe the first ones at that. Now as shameful and awful as the brawl was for the sport and especially Strikeforce I also have to say that I wish I had more friends that had my back like Nick had Jake Shields'.

In this interview Nick apologizes for the brawl but doesn't really take responsibility for it. We'll have to see if Strikeforce imposes any sort of punishment to the fighters.

It's interesting to see the trash talk between Michael Bisping and Wanderlei Silva because it's clear that it's all a put on. That doesn't mean that they're not going to try to destroy each other in the octagon. I predict Wanderlei gets a good KO. I don't think that Bisping has fully mentally recovered from his loss to Dan Henderson.

As far as the Antonia Nogueira vs. Cain Velazquez fight goes, I've always been a huge fan of Minotauro Nogueira but Cain is just improving so fast and he's younger and faster. If he plays it smart like Mir did, he could walk away with an impressive win.
